🌹 الشهيد القمص بنيامين المحرقي

🌹 وُلِدَ "عازر" في روضة البلد بمركز ملوي في (17 / 2 / 1952م)، والده اسمه ثابت قلدس والأم أنيسة، وهو الثالث بين سبعة أُخوة: إسحق، يعقوب، عازر، يونان، يوسف، سعاد، عواطف.
🌹 ارتبط بالكنيسة شماساً وخادماً مواظباً على مدارس الأحد، وعندما كبُر خدم الأطفال في كنيسة العذراء بالروضة.
🌹 حصل على الثانوية العامة في يوليو (1970م).
🌹 التحق بالكلية الإكليريكية بالأنبا رويس عام (70 / 1971م) وتخرّج في مايو (1975م).
🌹 خدم ثلاث سنوات شماساً مكرّساً مع نيافة الأنبا ويصا مطران البلينا (1975 - 1978م).
🌹 دخل الدير في (10 / 2 / 1978م).
🌹 ترهب باسم: الراهب بنيامين المحرقي في (24 / 3 / 1978م)، وهذه أسماء دفعة الرهبنة: الراهب هدرا، الراهب بنيامين، الراهب أمونيوس، الراهب كيرلس، الراهب القس أغاثون.
🌹 توفيت والدته يوم رهبنته! فبدأ حياته الرهبانية بالدموع!
🌹 عمل في القربان، وتولى دق الجرس وتوزيع أدوار الصلاة على الكهنة في الكنيسة الأثرية.
🌹 أشرف على الإكليريكية عام (1978م).
🌹 نال نعمة الكهنوت في (26 / 7 / 1979م).
🌹 ترقى قمصاً بيد الأنبا ساويرس رئيس الدير في قداس عيد الغطاس (20 / 1 / 1992م).
🌹 قام بتدريس اللاهوت الأدبي واللاهوت الطقسي والوعظ بالكلية الإكليريكية.
🌹 أصدر مذكرات هي: أصول وعِلمْ الوعظ، مسيحنا القدوس، الرعاية رسالة القدوس لخدمة النفوس، والتفاعل.
🌹 خدم في كينيا لمدة عام (1986م) وفي ديروط لمدة عام (1987م).
🌹 كان يردد في السنوات الأخيرة من حياته عبارة: "لا خلاص إلاَّ بالدم!" وقد كان! فمات شهيداً يوم الجمعة (11 / 3 / 1994م) برصاص الإرهابيين وكان عمره (42) سنة، مع الراهب أغابيوس المحرقي (30) سنة.
🌹 استشهد معهما لبيب سعيد يونان من المنوفية (30) سنة، سيف شفيق يوسف من منفلوط (30) سنة، وصفوت فايز مشرقي من رزقة الدير المحرق (13) سنة، وأُصيب ماجد محروس مكاوي (35) سنة، وحنا نصيف بطرس (23) سنة.
🌹 أُقيمت صلاة الجناز الساعة الثانية عشرة ظهراً يوم السبت (12 / 3 / 1994م).

English Translated Version (النسخة الإنجليزية المترجمة):

🌹 Lazarus was born in Rawdat El-Balad, Mallawi, on February 17, 1952. His father was Thabet Qaldas, his mother was Anisa, and he was the third of seven siblings: Isaac, Jacob, Lazarus, Jonah, Joseph, Souad, and Awatef.

🌹 He was deeply connected to the church as a deacon and a faithful servant in Sunday schools. When he grew older, he served the children at the Church of the Virgin Mary in El-Rawda.

🌹 He obtained his High School Certificate in July 1970.

🌹 He joined the Theological Seminary (Clerical College) in Anba Rueiss for the academic year 1970/1971 and graduated in May 1975.

🌹 He served for three years as a consecrated deacon with His Grace Anba Wissa, Metropolitan of El-Balyana (1975–1978).

🌹 He entered the monastery on February 10, 1978.

🌹 He was tonsured as a monk under the name Monk Benjamin El-Moharraqi on March 24, 1978. His monastic ordination class included: Monk Hedra, Monk Benjamin, Monk Amounios, Monk Cyrillos, and Monk Priest Agathon.

🌹 His mother passed away on the exact day of his monastic ordination, so he began his monastic life with tears!

🌹 He worked in baking the holy Bread (Qurban), took charge of ringing the church bells, and organized the prayer schedules for the priests in the Ancient Church.

🌹 He supervised the Theological Seminary in 1978.

🌹 He received the grace of the priesthood on July 26, 1979.

🌹 He was elevated to the rank of Hegumen (Fr. Qomas) by the hands of Anba Sawiris, the Abbot of the monastery, during the Epiphany Divine Liturgy on January 20, 1992.

🌹 He taught Moral Theology, Ritual Theology, and Homiletics (the art of preaching) at the Theological Seminary.

🌹 He published several booklets, including: The Foundations and Science of Preaching, Our Holy Christ, Pastoral Care: The Mission of the Holy One for Serving Souls, and Interaction.

🌹 He served in Kenya for a year (1986) and in Dayrout for another year (1987).

🌹 In the final years of his life, he used to repeat the phrase: "There is no salvation except through blood!" And so it was. He died as a martyr on Friday, March 11, 1994, by terrorists' bullets at the age of 42, alongside Monk Agapius El-Moharraqi (30 years old).

🌹 Martyred along with them were Labib Said Younan from Monufia (30 years old), Seif Shafik Youssef from Manfalut (30 years old), and Safwat Fayez Mashriqi from Rizqat El-Deir El-Moharraq (13 years old). Maged Mahrous Mekawe (35 years old) and Hanna Nassif Botros (23 years old) were wounded.

🌹 The funeral prayer was held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, 1994.
